Inspiration

The Focke Wulf Stieglitz watch is inspired by the Focke Wulf Fw44. This aircraft was designed under the supervision of Kurt Tank, Focke Wulf’s daring chief designer and test pilot. It was one of the aircraft that established Focke Wulf as a serious contributor to the German aviation industry. Considered to be the ‘German Stearman’ the Fw44 was a conventional biplane with open cockpits for two pilots seated in tandem. Equipped with a Siemens Sh 14 radial engine, it first flew in 1932 and was adopted as the primary trainer for the emerging Luftwaffe. Produced in large numbers up to 1940, it was sold (and produced under license) around the world. A delight to fly, it was an excellent aerobatic and sporting aircraft. It won numerous awards throughout its operational life.

The Focke Wulf Fw44 Stieglitz Watch has a 42mm case with tapering brushed lugs in a PVD (Physical Vapour Deposition) high grade stainless steel plated case. It features black Arabic numerals, a multi language day-date function, and black hour and minute hands along with a red tipped sweeper second hand that are offset against the Alpine white dial. With a single crown (controlling time and day-date), the tidy case is topped with high grade K1 mineral crystal with sapphire coating for added strength, clarity and durability. The brushed case plate is engraved with the Focke Wulf logo, and the PVD plated buckle also features the Focke Wulf name.
